Radishes & La Chicken

This is sort of a mishmash of foods found in the house.

radish soup
YS once made me a radish soup and it was so tasty I thought I'd try to recreate it. I'm baffled because mine turned out pink, and hers was pure white, so I suspect we were using different types of radishes. Anyway, I figured it was onions, garlic, broth and radishes, but at that stage, it was pretty watery and unflavorful. So I decided to add some heavy cream and yogurt. And the yogurt is what made this a winner. And then there's the bizarre pink color. I think it's kind of a dramatic dish to serve, and it seems to work both as a hot and a cold soup.

la chicken
Last night, after the gym, we ran to Mitsuwa for groceries and on the way, we passed by La Chicken. Just out of curiosity and convenience, we decided to pop in and take a look. It looked totally fast-foody, and it was. But it was also a great meal for $6. For the two of us. You can't really pass that up. It's rotisserie chicken, but it tastes like fried chicken. And they serve it with this amazing tangy, spicy sauce. We got the side of cole slaw and fries, and since they give you tortillas, we made ourselves little taco with the coleslaw and chicken and sauce. Yummy! We'll definitely go back there. I don't know the exact address, but it's on 1st St, in Little Tokyo, half a block east of the New Otani Hotel.

I love Rotisserie chicken. When I see all the things you whip up, I wish I can drop everything and drop by! Lately I've been trying to keep up with recent deadlines...so I have been cutting lunch short lately.
